Red Flags to Watch For
Requests for account numbers, debit card numbers, PINs, passwords, or online banking credentials.
Instructions to call unfamiliar phone numbers.
Requests to scan QR codes or visit unfamiliar websites.
Threats regarding account closure, suspension, or legal action.
Demands for immediate action.
Requests for gift card purchases, wire transfers, cryptocurrency payments, or unusual forms of payment.
Misspellings, grammatical errors, or suspicious formatting.
Contact information that does not match official RVCCU channels.
Important Fraud Reminders
RVCCU will never ask for your online banking password.
RVCCU will never request your PIN by phone, email, text message, or mail.
RVCCU will never ask you to transfer money to "protect" your account.
RVCCU will never ask you to purchase gift cards as payment.
RVCCU will never ask you to provide a one-time security code that was texted to your phone.
Do not click links, download attachments, or scan QR codes from suspicious communications.
